Scout Shouts Sleep Over - Day Two

Well, that was interesting. We thought the Cubs might have slept in a bit longer, but they seemed to have other ideas. They were awake and running around at 6:30am!

Thankfully, the scouting adults were soon able to get the youth organized and focused on packing their personal gear, getting it out of the tents and into the hall.

The Cubs were good at getting their breakfast organized, under supervision. Pancakes were made and several of the Cubs took on the role of pancake cooks! They really loved pouring and flipping the pancakes.

It was then time to get onto the morning activities,  packing the tents (thankfully not wet like last time!), and then moving onto our STEM activity. My Scouting Human found a awesome activity from Scouts Canada that was used and the Cubs seemed to really get into it.

In addition, there was also a chance to do some work towards their OAS areas as well. Specifically, their Bushcraft.

By the time we had finished, it was time to leave as the parents were starting to arrive to collect the youth members.

We hope they had fun and that they will want to see the show again next year.

Sleep over and Scout Shouts

The Cub Section had been told to spend some money. So, today, the Cubs went to see the matinee show of Scout Shouts at the Golden Grove Theatre.

We met at the Scout Hall and left our sleeping gear there. Once everyone had arrived, we were able to walk to the thereat to see the show. It was a great show and the Cubs really enjoyed the show, especially the 2nd half.

Scout Shouts Show has been going for almost 50 years and started as a group event back in the 1970s. Its cast is now drawn from several Scout Groups across the northern area of Adelaide. More information about the show can be found here - https://www.scoutsshouts.org.au/

After the show, we headed back to the Scout Hall, and set about putting up the tents the Cubs were sleeping in for the night. There was time to burn some energy before tea was cooked and eaten.

Once the Cubs were in their sleeping bags, it didn’t take them long to fall asleep and peace reigned…..
