Today was a long day. However, it was filled with activities and many of them were greatly appreciated by the youth members. It included Challenge Hill and the Tube Sides.

This evening saw myself and scouting
person head to Woodhouse. It was the start of Golden Grove Scout Group camp and
we are really looking forward to the weekend
It was especially pleasing to see that one of the Cubs had actually made and
decorated the cupcakes himself he brought for Supper.
This year, the Branch Commissioner for Cubs has set a challenge for the Cub Section and the theme for this year is to look at Emergency Services. The Cubs were challenged to take part in two activities related to Emergencies – be it visiting a local community organisation or a program
Tonight, the Golden Grove Cub Pack visited The Tea Tree Gully SES Unit as apart of the challenge. The SES members were impressed the Cubs could identify so many knots
It was a really great night and a thank you card has been sent to them, thanking for allowing us to visit.
Today, the Cubs went into town to an activity run by a leader from Collage Park around Science. It was for Science Week and the activities mainly looked at the human body. It was a great couple of hours (we booked into one of the mornings 2-hour sessions).
today, the Cubs went tree planting
with the Friends of Dry Creek. We were joined by other community groups (such
as Prospect Girl Guides) as well as members of the public.
We got the plants done in record time! We just all got on with the job and were able to get it all done so quickly. And it didn’t rain (someone thought it might)
The only real problem, was it was a bit cool!
