Kite Festival on Easter Saturay

What a day! Akela took myself an Seamus out this afternoon to see the kites at the Semaphore Kite Festival

The day was great weather wise and a lot of people around. We went for a walk 1^st, with Alaka and her dog, which was good – a 90 min walk! It was certainly a nice day for it and a lot of people were out and about on their bikes or walking in pairs or groups. We thought that was a fantastic thing to see!

Then, we got back to the car, where we left the dog with Aleka’s husband for a drink and a rest, while we went over to the jetty and had a look at the kites. We were able to get some photos, but there were soooo many people there, that we only got the one photo with us in it and the kites in the background. However, it was a good day and we hope Akela can take us to the kite festival next year.

Day at the Beach

Today, was Baden Powell’s birthday. Many scouting people refer to the 22^nd of Feb as Founders Day, in memory of when Robert Baden Powell was born in 1857.

While we didn’t do anything special today scouting wise (the Cub Pack had a special Baden Powell theme night at their Cub Meeting

Today though, Akela and I went to the beach with her dog and spent a lot of time throwing the ball. We also had a picnic for lunch, and it was certainly a great day to be at the beach

Cub Beach Night

This evening, the cub pack went to the beach. It was a great night and a very enjoyable evening. Everyone had a great time and in light of the temps of 41 during the day, was a great night away from the hall.

Beach Visit

Today, we took Mischief to Semaphore to visit a South Australian Beach. Last night, while Mischief and I were sleeping, Akela was busy getting a picnic lunch organised. We were joined by Akela’s husband, a friend and Ella, Akela’s dog (who Mischief discovered, really, really, really loves the beach and going swimming!)

It was an enjoyable day and it was certainly good to be able to see what an Adelaide beach looked like as well. Akela certainly got some weird looks as she was taking photos of us, but these things happen. I guess she must be use to it by now!

Soon, it was time to head home and allow Akela to do some clothes washing. She was getting ready to pack for the Jamboree and we are due to be at the Scout Hall at 3am. It is certainly a early time to be anywhere on New Years Day and especially as most people will be heading home after a night of celebration. Guess it will be a early night for us, to ensure we get the sleep we need!
