Australia Day 2015 - with no cricket at Adelaide Oval, what is a black sheep to do?

Today is Australia Day.  It is the official National Day of Australia and it is the anniversary of the First Fleet arriving in at Port Jackson in 1788.

Normally on Australia Day, there is cricket of some description on at Adelaide Oval. It has been a Test Match (5 day game) but in recent times, it has been a one day game. However, for some reason this year there was no game, which meant Akela had to find something else to do (Cricket on Australia Day for Akela has been like breathing – it is just what she and her family have always done)

So, Akela decided we were going to head back to Port Adelaide and have another look around at the paintings we saw the other day. She was convinced (correctly) that some would be completed and others in the final stages of completion. It was definitely worth going down to the Port to have another look!

We eventually dragged ourselves home, with the idea that maybe we could watch the cricket on the Television. Not a chance. It was being played in Sydney and it was washed out! Really, that was poor planning as it was such a nice day in Adelaide!

Wonderwalls Photography Tour

Today, Akela and I headed to the Port. Akela had booked herself into a guided photography tour for the Wonderwalls Festival in Port Adelaide. Essentially, it was about the Port being turned into a giant canvas for the weekend and the photography tour was a chance to have a guided tour of where the art work was being painted.

A lot of the work had been started in the few days prior to the weekend and was a work in progress over the weekend. It was certainly a interesting activity and we are looking at going back in a few days to have a look at the work.
