Clean Up Australia Day 2015

Today, the Cub Pack took part in Clean Up Australia Day. Akela decided that it was a good idea to link in with the Mawson Lakes Girl Guides site, and provide them with the manpower to do a great job on their site.

For those who don’t know, Clean Up Australia Day has been around for 25 years. The following is from their website (http://www.cleanup.org.au/au/About/the-clean-up-story.html)

 The Clean Up Story
In 1989 an 'average Australian bloke' had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard - Sydney Harbor.

This simple idea has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day.

Over all, it was a good day to get out and encourage the Cubs to get out and about, and encouraging them to look after the environment.
