River Torrens Linnar Hike Athelstone to Paradise

This evening, I joined Scouting person and the Cub Unit on a walk along The River Torrens Linnar Park We started an Athelstone and waked 4 ½ km to Paradise.

While on a Cub Night (that in itself is not unusual), it was a extra walk for the term. In part, due to the Covid situation. Even though the situation didn’t see Scouting going back to doing on line meetings (as was the case when the Covid Pandemic started 2 years ago). The current situation saw a directive that Scouting in South Australia could hold meetings in an outdoor setting, just not in the Scout Hall. At least for the first 2 weeks of the school term. The School Year in Australia pretty much follows the calendar year.

Hence, the Cub Unit went for a walk. This allowed the meeting to happen, the Cubs to get some KM for their Km hike badges, as well as burning some energy. The 2022 saw a staggered start to face to face schooling, with only certain year levels at school. Everyone else was doing Learning at Home. Which meant there was a need for the youth to get out and about and active. Hence tonight’s walk.

Overall, it was a great night activity, weather was good – not to hot, not to cold. Everyone seemed to have a great time.
